John was certified as a Transcendental Meditation teacher in 1971, training directly under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. That training became the foundation for everything that followed — a daily meditation practice that has now continued for more than fifty-six years.
During that same period, John experienced a profound divine encounter with Divine Father God-Source — one that, in a moment of ego assertion, dissolved as quickly as it had arrived. It's a story John still returns to when teaching about the delicate interplay between ego and surrender, and it shaped the humility with which he continues to approach every new energy Divine Mother has since revealed.
He recalls another formative moment vividly — a wave of love and gratitude toward Maharishi so intense that it changed both his heart and his perception in an instant:
"My heart center jumped up to my High Heart, and with that, my perception jumped up to what is called Celestial Vision — which is much higher than clairvoyance. And everything, including the dirt on the ground, was shimmering golden." — John Chandler
